Teacher Reporting App FOR EMC

I worked on the UI design for a reporting tool built for teachers implementing the Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum (EMC) across government schools. The tool was intended to make it easy for teachers to quickly update classroom progress, report challenges, share feedback, and mark course completion — without adding to their workload.

Simplicity was key. The interface was designed to be minimal, intuitive, and structured in a way that wouldn’t disrupt a teacher’s routine. This helped the Udhyam Learning Foundation gather consistent on-ground insights from schools and track implementation more efficiently at scale.

THE Problem

The Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum (EMC), developed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking in students, was implemented in Delhi state government schools as part of a large-scale education reform initiative.

While the program had a strong vision, tracking real-time classroom implementation became a key challenge for Udhyam Learning Foundation, which was supporting the execution on the ground.

Teachers were expected to report on:

  • Session progress and completion

  • Student participation

  • Classroom feedback and on-ground challenges

However, in practice, this reporting process was fragmented and inconsistent — relying on WhatsApp messages, manual forms, or delayed verbal updates. This led to:

  • Irregular reporting across schools

  • Limited visibility into program performance

  • Difficulty in identifying support needs or bottlenecks

  • A growing gap between curriculum design and field execution

To scale effectively and stay responsive, Udhyam needed a simple, centralized, and teacher-friendly reporting tool that could work in diverse school settings.

Approach

We created a streamlined UI for a Teacher Reporting Tool tailored to the realities of the school environment and the daily constraints faced by teachers.

Core priorities:

  • Ease of use: Designed for completion in under 2–3 minutes, respecting teachers' time and workload.

  • Clear reporting flow: Step-by-step structure for session status, feedback, and challenges — with dropdowns, optional text, and minimal friction.

  • Mobile-first design: Ensured usability on low-end smartphones, as many teachers accessed tools via mobile.

  • Visual progress tracking: Provided backend dashboards for Udhyam teams to monitor school-wise completion, participation, and flag issues early.

  • Consistency at scale: Standardized reporting across hundreds of classrooms, improving data quality and comparability.

Designed Application
  • Significant increase in regular session reporting

  • Improved program monitoring and faster field intervention

  • Reduced reliance on manual follow-ups and informal updates

  • Strengthened feedback loops between teachers and Udhyam teams

  • Enhanced ability to support schools more effectively and iteratively improve EMC delivery
