The Dream
Claymation
"The Dream" is a collaborative claymation project created as part of our New Media Design coursework at NID. This work explores stop-motion animation through the tactile medium of clay and the sequential capture of movement through photography.
The piece presents a form-led narrative, using clay not just as a material, but as a metaphorical language. It portrays a surreal glimpse into the relationship between a cat and a rat — a dreamlike moment suspended between tension and curiosity.
The forms sculpted in clay embody the evolving dynamics of movement, instinct, and interaction, blurring the line between abstraction and storytelling. Through its shifting shapes and rhythm, The Dream reflects on the emotional texture of pursuit and play, all within the fleeting logic of a dream.
